On our way to Mount Vernon we stopped in the old town of Alexandria, VA.  One of our stops included Christ Church which was built between 1767 and 1773.  This was the church that George Washington attended and it is still in use today.  The small cemetery in the courtyard has graves which date back to the late 1700’s.

The next picture is just a snapshot of the church itself.  There were so many people around it that it was impossible to get a great pic.

  1. These are Great Tammy love the top one, Are using Lightroom 5 yet? Try a little Upright correction on the bottom one, Julie has convinced me Baa LoL

    • I am still on lightroom 4….I thought about doing that, but since it wasn’t a great pic I didn’t want to spend much time on it. Great suggestion!

  2. I almost lived in Alexandria VA — the company as I was working for 20 years ago wanted to move me there… but I didn’t go. Always have to wonder about those decisions!

I really like the cemetery image… even the moss on the tree in the background looks old.

The church image is not that bad even with people in it. Can’t help but think of the Jack Johnson song of people taking pictures of people taking pictures….
