This year we have not had much snow or moisture. Due to the dryness there have been several brush fires popping up. I think our streak may be ending…first measurable snow is forecasted for tomoorow…4 to 6″…hopefully that will moisten everything up a bit.
It does look a titch dry there. You are welcome to any snow we have been getting as I am about done with it. Spring cannot come soon enough 🙂
There is so much rain and water here in the UK, I’m sure we would willingly spare some. I’m thinking I’d like some snow and proper cold, rather than all this damp.
The snow should put an end to your dry conditions. Nice capture of the smoke rising.
Hi Tammy,
You can have our snow, we have about 7 or 8 inches on the ground now….with another 7 to 9 inches coming in the next day. I’m so ready for spring, but it looks like it won’t arrive until June, lol Your picture is lovely. Have a great day!!

The recent heat wave caused bushfires that destroyed Forests and homes in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, we had a pretty bad one on North Stradbroke Island http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/north-stradbroke-island-fire-flares-up-20140106-30deo.html
It’s been a wicked weird winter…we’ve had spells of record-breaking cold, interrupted by temps in the 50s (like a heat wave for January in New England.) At the same time, we’ve barely had any snow. Two years ago, the snow was up to the bottoms of the stop signs; this year, the lawns are bare. (That’s a tad frustrating for us, since this is the year we bought snow shoes!) But at least it’s damp enough not to have fire. Just plain dreary.
The threat of fires and the devastation they cause is a constant source of fear of late, there seems to be a lot of dry grasslands all over our country, ironically due to good rainfall over the spring.
Well I agree with Barb we didn’t have any snow till today! We definitely won’t be having any fires! And Barb can now get out in her snow shoes I’m sure!
I’m willing to trade our wet/windy weather for a dry spell or two!
